Since 2021, PGS has had the chance to support the World Rally Championship (WRC) in covering its events, starting with the Safari Rally Kenya. This event was particularly important, as Kenya had not hosted the rally for over 20 years. For PGS, it was a unique opportunity to contribute to such an anticipated return, and to demonstrate our expertise in audiovisual production.
On the ground, we took charge of the production of the international signal as well as the broadcast via satellite, allowing millions of spectators around the world to experience the race as if they were there. This rally covered 367.79 kilometers across the savannah, spread over 19 stages. To ensure complete coverage, we mobilized a local team of 14 technicians, installed 7 cameras, and used an OB VAN to coordinate everything.
The Safari Rally Kenya represented much more than just a project. This was an opportunity for PGS to demonstrate its ability to manage productions in environments as difficult as they are impressive. Working in the Kenyan savannah, in collaboration with local teams, was an enriching experience that allowed us to strengthen our technical expertise while ensuring international quality broadcasting.
